Camera Plus Pro 4.0 from Global Delight Technologies just hit the App Store. It’s a successful do-it-all app with some great tricks up its sleeve: video recording with time lapse and edit options, local Wi-Fi transfer to Mac or PC via browser (which is really slick) or FTP, an optional private password-protected photo album, tagging to organize photos and videos, and tools to embed custom copyright information in your photos.
Version 4.0 brings some great new stuff, like live filters when shooting photos and videos (though live videos will be limited to 640 x 480 at 17 fps), a slider to adjust how much a filter should affect photos, and a claimed 30x performance boost across the board.
I just recently started giving Camera Plus Pro a trial for all my iPhone shooting since it feels like an Aperture-level upgrade when I compare it to iOS’ iPhoto-class Camera and Photos apps, even with the enhancements in iOS 5 (which I’ve been running during the developer beta). It’s a great app with a lot of flexibility (especially when it comes to getting your photos onto a computer), and Global Delight Technologies added some very welcome polish in Camera Plus Pro 4.0.
